    Frequently asked questions

Why are town planner fees so variable?+

Complexity differs dramatically - a 200m² granny flat in a stable suburb is straightforward; a mixed-use rezoning in a heritage area can require traffic, heritage, environmental and legal subconsultants.

Do I pay even if the application is refused?+

Standard practice is yes - the planner is paid for the work, not the outcome. Appeals are a separate fee.
